Here is my precious CNC machine which I had to sell when I relocated from Vancouver to San Diego in 2013
2007 XMODS RC Car
Back in 2007 the XMODS was very popular and I jumped on the band wagon to create aftermarket CNC machined parts for this little RC car. I was actually more interested in making the parts then racing with it.
XMODS Tie Rod
The XMODS tie rod was always the weakest link, replacing the plastic tie rod was one of my first project.
Rim Design
Chassis design
The tie rod was very popular on Ebay and people started asking for a better chassis design.
Here is a promo video showing how the chassis is made. The chassis was a big hit, unfortunately the manufacturing process was just too time consuming. Eventually I got bored making always the same parts all over again.
2009 Movie Project – Tooth Fairy
There are a lot of movie production companies in Vancouver there is a reason why they call it the Hollywood North. A prop company approached me to design and manufacture plastic mounting brackets for wings. They provided some hand written sketches what they had in mind. The narrower piece was secured to the actor’s back with a large belt. The wider part was holding the wing. The two pieces were sliding into each other. The wing had to be removable to give actors a break between shoots. The movie was featuring Dwayne Johnson and Julie Andrews. It was fun to watch these great actors to work! I milled 400 wing brackets from Lexan for the actors and extras.
